As a nation, we go through a lot of plastic. According to Statista, UK households throw away around 100 billion pieces of plastic packaging every year and on average, 66 items end up in the bin per week. It is then sent to landfill, where it can take anywhere from 20 to 500 years to decompose.
In rural areas like Cornwall, finding a place to shop package free locally can be difficult. This is where the Incredible Bulk comes in. Owned and run by married couple Jack and Gemma, this zero waste shop fits in to a van which drives around Cornwall to deliver and sell plastic free essentials.
I went along to The Food Barn in Flushing to find out what they offer and how they are making zero waste shopping more accessible.
